Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)


Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Mitigate settlement risk for Derivatives and Spot and Forward FX transactions executed by the trading desk by overseeing the process and ensuring trades are confirmed and matched on trade date. Ensure cash generation process in back of the executed FX transactions is seamless. Provide support to traders on open exposures and FX queries. Identify risks inherent in daily business processes and drive initiative to design and document controls to mitigate risk while seeking Straight-Through-Processing (STP) workflows. Liaise with technology and multiple financial operations groups to enhance processes and procedures and implement regulatory changes. Manage escalations and complex ad-hoc requests in a timely manner and handle sensitive information appropriately. Liaise with client service and trading areas to ascertain details of new accounts restructure termination and custodian transfers. Build relationships with outside financial institutions (brokers, custodians, prime broker and fund administrators) to improve quality and productivity of work, integrating best practices as appropriate. Oversee exceptions in systems and processes for risk management and efficient control, including identifying operational risks and designing appropriate exceptions reporting to mitigate residual risks. Identify, document and implement procedural changes within the department to improve processes and control infrastructure. Train new hires and cross-train existing staff on various functions.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field, plus two and half (2.5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related financial operations role in trade management. Prior work experience must include two and half (2.5) years: working with derivative and FX products including oversight and management of exceptions; project management skills including application enhancements experience which includes overall UAT, test script generation and coordination of testing with various groups in the financial services industry; analyzing operational risks inherent in business processes and experience identifying, documenting and implementing procedural changes to improve processes and control infrastructure; communicating with clients to ensure client requirements are understood and implemented effectively; negotiating with client services, business stakeholders in financial services, and technology professionals for prioritizations and deliverable management; utilizing Microsoft tools, including Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint to track volumes, workflow, and projects, including utilizing pivot tables to manage large datasets, vlookups, and advanced functions to minimize manual processes and efficiently manage risk; working with industry agenda & platforms such as DTC, ClearPar, SWIFT, FED, Oasys, MBSE, DTCC, and Trade Warehouse; problem solving and analytical skills pertaining to identification and resolution of entry error and/or system generated issues pertaining to trade booking; experience with application/software enhancement processes, including producing test scripts, coordinating testing activities, and analyzing post production implementation; experience in broker and/or client-facing activities.
