RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Function on a team that provides essential risk management and control to preserve and enhance the Firm's assets and its reputation and develops the processes and controls that makes business flow. Responsibilities include: Monitor and investigate reporting breaks and process failures in commodities trading and sales. Perform operational risk management functions and escalation reporting for the Firm's commodities trading & sales business. Monitor real time risk reconciliation through the trade lifecycle for OTC, cleared and listed products. Conducting root cause analysis to proactively identify areas of risk, red flags, and unusual activity to prevent fraudulent behavior, financial loss and reputational risk. Review trade bookings, preventing future settlement and risk management issues, and resolve booking discrepancies across complex derivative businesses. Trade workflow and trade reconciliation systems to ensure satisfactory client coverage.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field. 2.5 years of experience in the job offered or related financial services position. Prior work experience must include 2.5 years of experience with each of the below: Experience with Over The Counter (OTC) and Exchange traded products such as: options (vanilla & exotics), swaps, futures, cleared products; Leading and managing complex processes from electronic execution preferences to detailed post trade workflow and trade reconciliation to ensure satisfactory client coverage; Working with trading, risk & middle office platforms and applying knowledge of the regulatory landscape governing derivatives products, specifically as it relates to OTC derivatives regulation such as Dodd-Frank, Margin Rules; Quantitative and analytical skills must include working with market data applications, Word, Excel and PowerPoint with ability to analyze data and create reports; Experience working with commodities exchanges for purposes of working with cleared products, setups and risk monitoring; Novating and unwinding trades including understanding of the commercial impact, rationale and processing of trades; Experience in understanding commodities flows and risk controls specifically understanding of cleared vs OTC flows and their respective risks; Designing testing documents, executing test scripts, and monitoring production environment roll outs; Experience with oversight and management of exceptions and understanding of reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and address breaks and discrepancies; Liaising with technology and multiple financial operations groups to enhance processes and procedures and implement regulatory changes; Identifying risks inherent in daily business processes and drive initiative to design and document controls to mitigate risk while seeking Straight-Through-Processing (STP) workflows; Managing escalations and complex ad-hoc requests in a timely manner and handling sensitive information appropriately.
