Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY. Participate in the planning, scoping, fieldwork and reporting for internal audits of the Investment Banking Division, Merchant Banking Division, Global Investment Research and Realty Management Division. Meet with key stakeholders to gain an understanding of their processes. Perform walkthroughs of stakeholder processes to confirm accuracy of stakeholder feedback. Perform an analysis of the process flows to identify key controls and risks. Prepare a scope document to ensure adequate coverage of the controls and risks identified as within scope for the audit. Evaluate the adequacy and efficiency of the internal controls associated with these businesses. Document the results of fieldwork: draft clear, concise conclusions and create findings. Present findings to Internal Audit management and stakeholders. Follow-up on open findings to ensure stakeholders address the concerns raised by Internal Audit. Foster and maintain a solid working relationship with stakeholders by attending quarterly stakeholder meetings with Internal Audit management.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in an Accounting, Internal Audit, or an operational role (such as Investment Banking). Must have experience with: utilizing business knowledge of Investment Banking, Merchant Banking, or Global Investment Research and products to identify key risks to the business; utilizing knowledge of applicable rules and regulations issued by, but not limited to the following regulatory agencies: the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Reserve, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA); applying knowledge of the regulations relevant to the specific audit to the approved scope to ensure all aspects of the regulation are adhered to by the audited entity; executing an audit plan, which includes completing control design assessments and control effectiveness testing and validating key business controls based on keen observation and inspection of the evidence provided by the stakeholders; summarizing and presenting the audit findings to stakeholders to clearly define the control deficiency.
