Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY. Execute audit testing related to regulatory and financial reporting to ensure audit fieldwork is focused on the appropriate areas and documentation meets quality standards per internal audit (IA) policy. Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of regulatory reporting business areas, its products, and supporting functions. Identify risks, areas for IA coverage, assess mitigating controls, identify potential gaps and make recommendations on improving the control environment. Prepare commercially effective audit conclusions and findings, and present to IA senior management and business stakeholders. Follow-up on open audit issues and their resolution. Participate in department-wide initiatives aimed at continually improving IA’s processes and supporting infrastructure.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Finance Management, Accounting or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role within financial services. Must have experience: with U.S. GAAP accounting, Fed/Basel regulatory capital rules, and financial concepts related to controllers and tax functions; within an audit context, including experience identifying and assessing risk and controls for a business process, including a demonstrated ability to analyze and navigate through the regulatory requirements and instructions; working across a global audit team, including experience balancing priorities and juggling multiple tasks at the same time; interacting with stakeholders across levels within an audit context and communicating control gaps (both verbally and in writing); working independently as part of larger team, including the ability to take ownership of work, thinking proactively and planning accordingly to meet deliverables, influencing others to achieve best outcome, and move projects towards timely completion through follow-up and persistence.
