Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Function as a Private Wealth Advisor (PWA) to the Firm's investment management clients, including wealthy individuals and families, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and select institutions, including foundations and endowments. Responsibilities include: Build relationships with clients and prospective clients, develop a strong network of intermediaries, and create asset allocation strategies and holistic wealth advisory recommendations to clients; provide specialized support and advice tailored to meet the specific investment management needs and goals of each client based on a client's investment objectives, liquidity needs, and risk tolerance; advise on asset allocation, regulatory issues and facilitate transactions in securities across the capital structure including equities (including single stock risk management), fixed income, derivatives/structured products, commodities, hedge funds, private equity, real estate, MLPs; monitor portfolio holdings and re-balance portfolios; provide market color and research to clients and prospects; facilitate credit and lending requests; and assist clients regarding Trust and Estate planning.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Business Administration or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related financial services role. Prior work experience must include: understanding of global asset classes, public equities, fixed income, option derivative securities and foreign currencies for clients; trading (long and short) currency, equities, mutual funds, fixed income, options, hedge funds, private equity, derivatives and structured products; utilizing knowledge of financial markets, products, and derivatives, and ability to manage and construct complex portfolios of these instruments to meet different investment objectives; understanding of risk/reward characteristics of a broad range of fixed income instruments, including government bonds, corporate bonds, mortgages and asset-backed securities; articulating complex financial concepts to clients and their professional advisors; onboarding new clients with unique/complex circumstances including Entities, Foundations and Trusts; preparing customized asset allocations, determining the appropriate asset location and constructing investment portfolios; understanding and use of multi factor statistical models to derive asset allocations; preparing customized analytics for existing/prospective clients and ensuring associated data and calculations are accurate; using spreadsheets, pivot tables or similar quantitative analysis tools to assess positioning, risk and other portfolio characteristics; ability to present to clients on markets, investment outlook in order to effectively explain drivers of portfolio performance; working with corporate executives and experience with public company compensation plans and trading for insiders (10b-5-1 selling plans and reporting Rule 144 transactions accurately); experience with single stock risk management and diversification strategies, including understanding of tax impact; working with clients to address liquidity needs by identifying appropriate lending vehicles (margin, securities based loans and/or lines of credit); experience with fee structures within private wealth industry for various investment vehicles (mutual funds, ETFs, hedge funds, private equity funds and separate accounts), in addition to calculating weighted-average fees; utilizing estate planning concepts and experience with multi-generational wealth planning; understanding tax issues relevant to high net worth clients and experience with tax documentation and reporting.
