RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY . Structure, analyze and execute transactions on behalf of companies in the natural resources sector. Review proprietary financial models, such as M&A, DCF, and LBO valuations in the natural resources sector. Help senior team evaluate models to develop key judgments. Analyze accounting and regulatory statements, debt and equity filings and documents, financial projections and models as prepared in various formats by clients. Lead dialogue when liaising with senior bankers and product experts throughout the firm. Supervise, guide and coordinate junior professionals' work product, including reviewing financial modeling work and presentations prepared for transactions, corporate board meetings, investment banking pitches and client service projects on corporate finance topics; supervise and review memoranda required to gain internal approvals from typical investment banking committees. Present to CEO / CFO level corporate clients in the natural resources sector on topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activities, restructuring alternatives and corporate governance issues at board meetings and pitches and on conference calls. Interact with senior management on a daily basis to execute projects, provide updates and advice and prepare presentation materials. Manage live deal execution in the natural resources sector, including running due diligence processes, negotiating non-disclosure agreements and other legal documents with lawyers and potential buyers, organizing and attending deal and non-deal roadshows and liaising with other investment banks and other parties within the Investment Banking division. Draft financing and offering documents. Assist companies in preparation of materials to present to potential buyers of the company or their securities. Perform data analysis to help clients make capital structure and M&A decisions.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in a field such as Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Accounting or a related field. Will accept a single or combination of degrees, diplomas or professional credentials deemed equivalent to a Bachelor's degree. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related investment banking position. Prior work experience must include two (2) years with: Executing debt or equity financing transactions in excess of $100 million; Executing public mergers and acquisitions transactions in excess of $500 million; Developing complex presentations and financial models using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint; Building and reviewing financial models including operating models, M&A and LBO valuations and models that incorporate corporate finance concepts, risk/return dynamics and GAAP and non-GAAP (for foreign equivalent) principles for companies within the natural resources sector; Working on teams providing financial advice to companies within the natural resources sector on M&A transactions, capital raising, and other complex financial transactions; Presenting to senior executives such as the CEO and CFO of clients on M&A, corporate strategy and financing alternatives; Supervising and coordinating the work of junior bankers while coordinating with senior bankers and various product experts; Managing multiple live work streams, coordinating with clients, external counsels, co-advisors and senior deal team members to ensure smooth execution of deals. FINRA Series 79 license required. Travel required to meet clients.
