Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)


Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Associate on the Private Equity Fund team within the Investment Management Division's ("IMD") Controllers group. Review quarterly/annual trial balances, investor allocations, capital statements and financial statements for private equity funds managed by the firm. Liaise with third party fund administrator, independent auditor and internal teams such as Legal, Tax and Operations regarding accounting matters. Participate in due diligence process related to new investments to identify operational control risks. Validate third party administrator's management fee and carried interest calculations to ensure that they are in accordance with the governing documents of the fund.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: private equity fund structures, such as master/feeder, blockers, etc.; U.S. GAAP, as it relates to private investment companies, including experience with ASC 946; utilizing Microsoft Excel functionality to assist in financial reporting, such as pivot tables, vlookup, or sumif; preparing or reviewing management fee calculations for private equity (or hedge) funds; preparing or reviewing carried interest (or incentive fee) calculations for private equity (or hedge) funds; interacting with multiple stakeholders on accounting related issues.
