Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Salt Lake City, UT. Analyze a portfolio of counterparties in consumer, retail and healthcare, and natural resources industries, and recommend internal credit ratings on all portfolio counterparties. Provide detailed write-up on the counterparties' credit qualities, such as financial performance, industry trends and outlook, liquidity and cash flow analysis, capital structure breakdown, etc. Perform Leveraged Lending reviews on portfolio of counterparties that are designated with leveraged loans, including analyses of the counterparties' historical cash flow generation and leverage (debt/EBITDA) trends. Create/assess seven year cash flow projections to determine the counterparties' ability to amortize debt and create cash flow projections to calculate the counterparties' collateral valuation through Discounting Cash Flow (DCF) method. Analyze all credit facilities of the portfolio counterparties and recommend Regulatory Risk Ratings and consider the cash flow projections used in the Leveraged Lending Reviews to evaluate the counterparties debt repayment capacity on their specific credit facilities. Present findings from credit rating analysis, Regulatory Risk Rating analysis and Leveraged Lending reviews to senior management and peers. Perform daily surveillance of portfolio counterparties on any material events, including but not limited to: public rating changes, merger and acquisition transactions, financial reporting, and debt issuances, and provide guidance on the impact of any material events to the counterparties' credit ratings. Perform extensive research on a selected counterparty, including detailed financial projection, comprehensive credit analysis write-up, and Regulatory Risk Rating recommendation, with detailed rating rationale as part of semi-annual Regulatory Risk Rating audit performed by the Federal Reserve's Shared National Credit program. Track compliance documents and request compliance documents from the internal Operations group. Provide ad-hoc data analysis to management, such as but not limited to: headcount budget analysis, portfolio allocation breakdown and analysis, creating logic for implementing new internal tech-process, creating logic for and improving existing tech-process. Provide both industry specific training and review process training to new hires and juniors. Participate in on-campus recruitment activities.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Business, Accounting, Management, or any relevant field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have experience with: fundamental credit risk research; Leveraged Lending counterparty analysis; analyzing and assigning Regulatory Risk Ratings; Accounting/Finance, including, but not limited to, demonstrated ability to understand financial reporting, accounting methods and experience creating projections based on historical financials; Excel, including: demonstrated ability to build financial models using formals and macro, and performing data analysis; public credit ratings agencies such as Moody's, S&P, and Fitch; CapIQ, used for market research and financial analysis; analyzing and interpreting credit documents, such as bank loan Credit Agreements and bank loan Compliance Certificates; and Consumer, Retail, Healthcare and/or Natural Resources.
