Associate - FIN10516SRPC

Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Jersey City, NJ. Responsible for supporting Global Liquidity Products Trading desk by providing daily P&L on Secured and Unsecured funding products, including Repurchase Agreements (“Repo or Repos”), Secured Notes, Secured Loans, Bonds and Derivatives. Provide daily estimate/actual P&L commentary to Senior Management, both verbally and in writing, highlighting key risk drivers and market movements. Maintain and enhance a price verification framework for various funding and derivative products to meet internal price verification standards. Prepare and review repo disclosures, in particular repo disclosures based on counterparty exposure and enforceable collateral. Coordinate with IT/operations/project management groups to improve end-to-end flows, identify and fix various system issues. Coordinate and run monthly meetings with trading desk head, traders and controllers to discuss monthly results and all relevant topics, including monthly Volcker results. Responsible for analyzing balance sheet movements and responding to various ad hoc internal and external requests. Demonstrate understanding of the allocation of carry costs, including Firm-wide costs related to liquidity and unencumbered inventory, and Asset-liability (ALM) management.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have experience with: conducting daily P&L on secured funding products and derivatives, with a basic understanding of GAAP accounting and general finance concepts, including risk and valuation; utilizing proper accounting to prepare reports based on counterparty exposure and enforceable collateral on Repos; conducting price verification, including the understanding of various market risks for secured funding products and derivatives; analyzing balance sheet movements, including understanding how various regulatory rules impact secured funding products; coordinating with IT/project management group to improve end-to-end flows and identify/fix various systems issues; providing written and verbal presentations re: P&L issues to senior management.
