RESPONSIBILITIES
About the role
The Policy and Procedure Compliance Analyst is responsible for creating, maintaining and continuously improving policy and procedure documentation that complies and aligns with legal, regulatory, departmental, and company standards. This team member will interact with various departments and all levels of management in the interest of achieving GM Financial strategic objectives, where they align with policies and procedures.
In this role you will:
- Evaluate and analyze company policies and procedures in order to provide mitigation strategies that will support company initiatives
- Gather data and interpret information to understand current business processes and develop a working knowledge to meet business needs
- Review, evaluate, and analyze policies and procedures in the broad context of the overall business in an effort to anticipate future impacts
- Identify and summarize gaps and contradictions in policies and procedures and their supporting documentation
- Collaborate with internal customers and team members
- Ensure policies and procedures are clear and concise, adhere to company style guide standards, approved appropriately, and published in a timely manner
- Provide constructive and professional feedback to team during the editing phases
- Foster open communication and information sharing within the department
- Identify opportunities for streamlining department functions and/or process improvements
- Create documents in a timely manner to meet established deadlines
- Manage portfolio of assigned policies and report on the status of assignments and projects
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals
- Utilize appropriate technology to sustain and support policy workflow (such as GRC tool, policy applications)
- Establish and maintain a consistent level of quality and accuracy
QUALIFICATIONS
What makes you a dream candidate?
- Knowledge of general terminology for Compliance, Internal Audit, and Finance industry and general knowledge of financial
services operations - Knowledge and ability to use Governance, Risk, and Compliance system (GRC) tools and use and run basic database queries and data extraction (such as PolicyHub, Microsoft Access or Cognos)
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to review documents for spelling, grammar, organization, consistency, and adherence to department standards
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while meeting time sensitive deadlines
- Well organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple competing tasks, efficient and able to work independently and think critically
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships through strong interpersonal skills Effective time management skills
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to communicate professionally across all levels of the organization Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and company information
- Proficiency in SharePoint and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Journalism, English, or a business related field, or significant related work experience preferred
- 1+ years documenting policies and procedures
- 1+ years technical writing, analytical, and research experience
- 1+ years automotive finance industry
- 1+ years' experience with a Governance, Risk, and Compliance system (GRC) tool
