Vice President and Team Leader, GLG Law


Job Summary


GLG is seeking an entrepreneurial leader to manage and grow our business serving the world’s leading law firms in order to improve revenue growth, drive profitability, and expand our user base.  The Vice President and Team Leader of GLG Law will lead a team of sales and research professionals.  This individual will report to the Managing Director of GLG Professional Services Firms. 


Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Enhance customer targeting and outreach while refining our value proposition
  • Develop our service offering for law firms and explore opportunities for new product and channel development
  • Build relationships with senior partners in law firms to understand their work, differentiate the company’s brand, and tailor GLG’s value proposition
  • Plan for and execute against a revenue and profitability target
  • Drive operational enhancement in both sales and research through innovation as well as collaboration with colleagues in the Professional Services Firms business unit
  • Recruit and develop professionals on the team through teaching in the apprenticeship model; engage daily with team members to develop their skills and provide insight and mentorship
  • Provide real-time analysis of business performance against operational and financial metrics, and adjust team and individual tactics accordingly


Key performance metrics for this role include performance to revenue, gross margin, and direct margin targets, effectiveness and frequency of senior-level client engagement, and team performance to operational targets.


An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • 7-10+ years of demonstrated success engaging with clients in a sophisticated environment
  • A JD or MBA degree
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • A tenacity to engage clients by telephone and in person
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to achieve success
  • Substantial understanding of the litigation process and legal market through educational and/or professional experience
