Learning & Development Manager

Position Overview:

The Learning and Development Manager is a highly proactive self-motivator who is able to understand evolving business priorities and synthesize complex information to develop high-impact learning content for GLG professionals.  As part of the Global Talent Development & Learning Team, this individual will work to foster a culture of learning across the company and contribute to the growth and direction of a newly developed training curriculum.  This role will focus specifically on the APAC-based team and will require a clear understanding of business targets for each -APAC office in order to create and deliver content that drives client service excellence in support of these goals.  There will be particular emphasis on coordinating and refining the current onboarding program

Learning and Development Managers are credible and passionate leaders who establish themselves as critical resources for leaders and their teams at GLG. They are highly skilled in all elements of program design and able to effectively transform general concepts into effective and relevant training content of varying forms (in-person, virtual, eLearning, etc.).  They are proven project managers who manage all aspects of coordination for L&D programs and skillfully balance multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.  Successful Learning & Development Managers are exceptional relationship builders and able to communicate effectively at all levels of seniority.  They regularly partner with APAC and GLG leadership to understand learning needs and then synthesize this information to create innovative and strategic training that empowers GLG professionals to excel in their roles and grow professionally.

For this position, we seek applicants with bachelor's or master’s degrees.  The following factors will strengthen an applicant’s candidacy:

  • 3-5 years professional experience; ideally in an L&D role, but open to different backgrounds
  • Self-driven and persistent; able to achieve lofty goals with minimal oversight
  • A doer, not a delegator
  • Experience in training program design, content creation, and production of high quality deliverables
  • Highly detail-oriented and able to manage all logistical elements of L&D programming
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and with senior leadership to generate results
  • Innovative and dynamic approach to addressing GLG training needs
  • Ability to engage large groups and generate interest in the subject matter
  • Strong public speaker
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and active listening
  • Comfortable with PowerPoint
  • Some travel required
  • Proficiency in Mandarin strongly preferred
