Business Development Manager, Law Firms Team
GLG Law is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Manager to join the Business Development team in our New York office. The Manager will be responsible for business development, sales and service to new and existing clients throughout the United States and globally. The Business Development Manager at GLG Law will be deployed in support of client relationships, strategic positioning, and as a thought partner in client negotiations and executing complex projects. The Manager will need to be comfortable articulating GLG Law’s unique value proposition, and coaching others to do so as well. The Business Development Manager will need to work across functional teams to ensure excellent service delivery, while developing additional business opportunities with current clients.

The role requires not only demonstrated sales acumen and leadership potential (including the desire to potentially manage junior team members), but the confidence to contact senior talent at leading law firms, in-house teams, and government agencies, and the tenacity to win the business. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for relationship development, while working alongside senior leadership to drive opportunities from start to finish, culminating with increased adoption and usage of GLG’s services across national and global client accounts.
The Manager will be responsible for not only creating and managing his or her own phone-based business development and email campaigns, but to mentor and coach junior team members in business development best practices, and drive constant improvement across the business.
Directly engage and build relationships with senior professionals at top law firms, in-house teams and government agencies, and be able to articulate GLG’s premium brand, offering and value proposition
Work creatively and collaboratively with internal colleagues—sales, marketing, legal, research, finance, technology—to deliver solutions to solve complex business issues
Build account plans, set account growth objectives, and quarterback client service teams to achieve those objectives
Assist senior Law leadership in setting goals for the sales team and contributing to strategic discussions around achievement of shared and individual metrics
Effectively communicate GLG’s Mission, Vision, and Strategy
Represent the core values that underpin GLG’s culture
Who You Are
A demonstrated ability to be creative and commercial and/or a track record of overachieving in a performance-based environment
A minimum of four (4) years of directly related professional experience, such as B2B sales or consulting
Litigation experience or law degree a plus
Strong research skills required
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Salesforce familiarity
