Traineeship with GSK under Professional Conversion Programme

GSK Vaccines Singapore will be launching a new traineeship programme – Professional Conversion Programme starting from this October!
This programme aims to help and support mid-career jobseekers to re-skill themselves by acquiring the necessary knowledge and competencies to join the Biologics Manufacturing industry.
The maturity and work experiences of mid-career-switchers will bring about a more balanced demographic in our organization.
The Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for Biologics Manufacturing Sector is a joint initiative by the Workforce Singapore (WSG) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP), offering competency-based training to mid-career switchers who aspire for a career in the Biologics Manufacturing industry.
The PCP comprises of:
(i) 4-month full time training which leads to a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Process Technology (Biologics Manufacturing). A Bridging Programme is weaved in to prepare the candidates for the WSQ Advanced Certificate programme
(ii) 8-month on-the-job (OJT) training in a hosting company from the Biologics Manufacturing industry
Funding Support: Trainees under PCP will be supported with course fee funding and training allowances for the training duration.
Bond: Candidates are NOT required to serve bond upon completion of programme.
- Diploma qualification: Biotechnologist
- Degree qualification: Automation Engineer, Chemist, and Warehouse Superintendent
Participate in preparation, operations, and completion of assigned process stages to ensure the production of vaccines within established timing and quality standards. Ensure good housekeeping of the facilities so as to keep them in good operational order in line with cGMP, safety, and environmental requirements.
Responsible and accountable for Automation systems. Ensure that the systems are at the required availability level as well as ensuring the performance of the systems comply with cGMP, EHS and GEP requirements. Other areas of support include Process Control System, Automated and Analytical System, Particle and Environmental Monitoring System, Building Management System, Emergency Shutdown system etc.
To provide technical support in QC Chemistry team. Manages the chemistry laboratory activities to assure timely availability and accuracy of results. Provides support and technical expertise to ensure the manufactured products meet applicable regulatory standards and guidelines with respect to QC operations. Supports equipment/software/method validation and performs (re)validation when necessary. Participate in investigation of non-conformities (deviation and exceptions).
To supervise and manage warehouse and logistics operations in accordance to site requirements. Carry out effective inventory management and good warehouse practices. Implement proper receipt/ issues of materials to support operational requirements. Pick, pack and ship products to overseas customers. Ensure regulatory, cGMP, operational procedures compliance and conduct regular inspection on warehouse.
Candidates will assume different positions that commensurate with their qualification and working experience in GSK.
- Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
- For GSK, at least five (5) years of full-time working experience (excluding NS)
- Fulfilled National Service obligation (for Males)
- New entrants to biopharmaceutical industry and should not be holding a bond obligation with any organisation
- Possess at least a Diploma/Degree from any disciplines
