Senior/Analytical Chemist

Your Responsibilities:
As an Senior/Analytical Chemist, your role will be to ensure that all value stream specific process raw materials, factory samples and final products are properly analyzed and the results recorded in full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and regulatory requirements that meet the defined quality standards.

You will be based at our plant in Quality Road, reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
•You will ensure that all value stream specific raw materials / samples / final products are analysed and tested according to the stipulated quality requirements so as to provide accurate test results for correct usage
decisions.

•You will perform Raw material and packaging material usage decision.

•You will perform Finished Product approval in Laboratory Information Management System.

•You will also supervise, develop, and motivate value stream laboratory technicians to help realize their maximum potential so as to contribute towards achieving the objectives of the department.

•You will be responsible to provide technical training on laboratory instrumentation to technicians where it is possible and necessary.

•You will work closely with shared laboratory support to ensure that the lab equipment is available, in good working order and that they meet regulatory standards. Support laboratory technicians in troubleshooting
lab equipment or instrument malfunctions so as to minimize equipment and production downtime.

•You need to liaise with shared laboratory support for vendor support in the event of total equipment breakdown.

•You will assist Quality Control Manager in preparing budget for laboratory services and provide support in resource planning.

•You will perform gap analysis against Compendium Analytical Procedures and Pharmacopeia.

•You will contribute in the preparation of site audits by internal and external regulatory agencies to ensure GMP and regulatory compliance.

•Review of the analytical method robustness and make improvement to the analytical methods in consultation with Analytical Development team.

Why You?

Basic qualifications:
Ideally, you should be someone with strong interest in Analytical Chemistry with these attributes:

•At least a degree in chemistry or relevant science discipline. Senior Chemist will have at least 5 years
experience in an analytical environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
•GMP and GLP knowledge.
•Understanding product specification and method of analysis.
•Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation.
•Analytical chemistry background to identify the unknowns.

Preferred qualifications:
•Good communication skills.
•Problem solving skills (Troubleshooting skills).
•Candidates with no prior working experience but with relevant degree are encouraged to apply, as training will be provided.
