Senior Scientist, Oncology Cell Therapy Translational Medicine

Your Responsibilities:
We are seeking a motivated scientist with experience leading preclinical CAR/TCR projects to join the Translational Medicine team of the Oncology Cell Therapy Discovery Performance Unit (OCT DPU) in Collegeville, PA. The mission of the OCT DPU is to discover and develop transformational CAR and TCR cell therapies for patients with cancer.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in cancer immunology/immunotherapy, and direct experience investigating methods to improve the safety and efficacy of CAR and/or TCR therapies in pre-clinical models. They should have a passion for leading scientific research from the bench, and a track record of publications demonstrating success in different institutional environments. Experience working in matrixed, multidisciplinary teams in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry environment is preferred. Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate good communication and inter-personal skills such as stakeholder management and team work.

The role will involve pursing discovery research activities to optimize the safety and efficacy of CAR and TCR therapies via the design and development of full work packages to support Bench-to-Bedside clinical trials. Candidate must have experience in molecular biology techniques, the production and use of lentivirus vectors, and in the characterization of CAR/TCR primary T cell products and their functions by phenotypic and functional assays including multi-color flow cytometry, ELISAs, multiplex cytokine assays, and cytotoxicity assays. The successful candidate will also have direct in vivo preclinical experience in murine models of tumor immunotherapy using CAR/TCR engineered cells, including in vivo bioluminescent imaging, caliper measurements, and Kaplan-Meier outcomes analysis.
