The Engineering function at the GSK Ware GMS (Global Manufacturing and Supply) site is responsible for the provision of technical expertise to support the manufacturing, automation and controls systems for all production operations to ensure production targets are achieved.
Due to the sustained long term expansion of the Ware site and in support of the Ellipta medical device supply chain we are looking for a dynamic and driven Senior Engineer to join our Respiratory Filling team at the GMS manufacturing site at Ware. Working directly into the Ware site's Filling Engineering Operations Manager you will take responsibility for direct line-managing a team of 3 (with overall responsibility for up to 20 staff). You and your team will take responsibility for leading equipment process improvements across the filling department. You will work alongside fellow engineers, contractors, suppliers and consultants to deliver a range of engineering-related activities to agreed levels of quality, cost, time and tangible benefit. The role requires a close working relationship with the production, quality and technical functions in the Filling department.
You will be the accountable "Technical Authority" for the Filling function, which including all tasks, systems, data and information flow required for the process to succeed and remain compliant. As one of two Senior Engineers in the Filling department, you will have an in depth understanding of the designated process, whilst managing through a broad network of "Subject Matter Experts". You will have responsibility for the overall equipment performance of the filling process, including making improvements to ensure delivery of the Site's commercial objectives. You will also support with any regulatory audit questions during inspections.
In relation to the engineering manufacturing elements of the role you will ideally be able to demonstrate a level of knowledge concerning powder processing (preferably in the pharmaceutical manufacturing area). Knowledge of medical devices would also be highly advantageous, but is not considered essential. You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives through increasing equipment performance, reliability and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
This role would suit a driven and motivated individual who has strong experience of working in a complex GMP environment. You will be a qualified engineer, with strong people skills (ideally with previous line-management experience). A proven ability to drive performance is a must. It is imperative in this role that you demonstrate an ability to drive common-objective thinking, with a complete focus on providing solutions. You will need to be persuasive, have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and have proven experience dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups. Ideally you will have worked in a highly regulated-industry. Experience of pharmaceutical filling processes for medical devices would be highly advantageous.

Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company's pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms, many of which are life saving medicines. A series of investments in new state-of-the-art equipment are being made that will support the delivery of a record number of new products. This must be achieved whilst consistently delivering outstanding quality, service and value to our patients.
