Senior EHS Engineer

Your Responsibilities:
1. Operation
Provide oversight on the maintenance and safe operation of equipment / systems to ensure required level of reliability, availability and quality are delivered in the following two or more engineering disciplines.
• Engineering disciplines:
- Electrical
- HVAC
- Automation
- Maintenance (PM / CM)
- Clean Utilities
- Black Utilities
- Project & Facility

• Has a minimum of 2 competent and 1 developing levels on the following EHS Topics based on the standard competency frameworks:
- Enviromental Compliance (Air and Water)
- BioHazard Safety
- PTW, Contractor and Construction Safety
- EHS Management Systems
- Loss Prevention and Business Recovery
- Storage and Handling of Materials
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Industrial Hygiene with Ergonomics and Human Factors
- Work Equipment and Pressure Systems
- Workplace and Facilities
- Machinery Safety

2. Quality
• Compliance to internal QA systems and external regulations to ensure that all engineering / EHS aspects are compliant with GSK standards and regulatory requirements

3. Site SME
• Serve as site SPOC and interface with internal and external stakeholders (including Global SME) for matters relating to engineering / EHS aspect
• Interface with relevant external stakeholders (including Global Technical Services / Global EHS, Global SME network and international pharmaceutical network ) to keep up to date with technical / EHS knowledge and industry best practices
• Interface with relevant internal stakeholders on site to cascade important/critical relevant information and apply expertise/good problem skills to support the stakeholders for any required evaluations, action plans and problem solving
• Lead investigations relating to technical / EHS issues
• Lead and/or participate as SME in global projects related to the technical domain of expertise
• Contribute to the GSK Global SME network by participating in discussion, providing expert opinion, and aligning with GTS / GEHS on current requirements
• Support Learning team in establishing good and up-to-date training programs and measure of training effectiveness

4. Management & Planning
• Proactive and timely engagement of internal or external stakeholders, as necessary
• Engage the necessary stakeholders to formulate and drive projects relating to Engineering / EHS improvement initiatives
• Apply good communication and project management skills

5. Operational Excellence
Drive operation excellence and continuous improvrment program within and across departments to meet the desired equipment reliability level and achieving target of value creation program

6. Problem solving
Lead cross-functional team to resolve significant issues such as major non-compliance, deviation,
equipment maintenance, etc.

7. Training & Development
• Coach and develop others to be competent in their roles
• Consistently upgrade Engineering / Safety and troubleshooting skills, new concepts / technologies and procedures
• Keep up to date with equipment / system technology and industry best practices

Why You?

Basic qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering related with professional certification in area of expertise

Preferred qualifications:
• Advanced technical / EHS knowledge and extensive experience in application of troubleshooting and maintenance and/or EHS aspects of Bio/Pharm plant system
• Knowledge of relevant FDA/EU/ICH/WHO as well as other relevant regulatory and technical guidelines
• Good understanding of relevant GSK GES and local/corporate EHS standards
• Quality performance mindset
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to take difficult and risk-based decisions based on available information
• Demonstrated professional and ethical integrity
• Fluency and proficiency in the English language
• Good writing skills
• Ability to operate independently
