Senior Director, Value Evidence and Outcomes Scientific Lead - Europe

Basic qualifications:

  • Master's degree in health economics, health outcomes, outcomes research or evidence based medicine.
  • 7 years experience in health outcomes function within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Familiarity with HTAs in multiple markets in region or experience in providing health outcomes support for a local operating country
  • Knowledge in design of health outcomes studies, development of study protocols, implementation of studies and experience in local dossier and model development
  • Ability to function and to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and multi-cultural setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across the R&D matrix, to include scientific and commercial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently towards set objectives and to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English. Additional languages relevant to region preferred.

Preferred qualifications:

o PhD in a relevant discipline.

o 10+ years of experience in health outcomes function within the pharmaceutical industry

o Previous cross-portfolio and above country experience

GSK Value Evidence & Outcomes (VEO ) Organization

The VEO team leads the delivery of compelling objective evidence that demonstrates the value of our medicines. VEO is recognized as an essential contributor to medicines development and commercialization, committed to quality and innovation. Working closely with key partners, the VEO team build a deep understanding of patient, payer, and provider needs and translate these needs into evidence generation plans to demonstrate the values of our medicines; Collaborate internally to develop innovative approaches and enhance the external environment; Lead the development, implementation and integration of evidence generation strategies, focusing on talent and leadership capability; Deliver high quality objective evidence to support maximum patient access; Support our franchises and LOCs to ensure that local evidence requirements are met.

The Role

The role of the VEO Scientific Lead is essential to ensuring improved communication between the global Value Evidence & Outcomes team and health outcomes scientists in non-franchise Local Operating Countries (LOCs). Successful reimbursement can only be achieved when local needs are actively communicated to global asset teams in a timely manner; evidence is generated accordingly with high scientific quality and oversight, and delivered in a compelling manner at the local level.

In this role you will provide scientific support for local value evidence activities to include:

  • To provide guidance on successful conduct of local health outcomes activities, including vendor selection, proposal evaluation, sharing of global resources, guidance and standards.
  • To coordinate evidence needs across countries/assets within a given region, improve regional cooperation, and share best practices
  • To support launches by training non-franchise LOCs on the global Value Evidence Dossier, and other VEO deliverables, providing guidance on interpretation to meet local payer needs, and reviewing local dossiers to ensure consistent messaging in the region.
  • Aid local teams in adaptation of global models and development of new models in collaboration with VEO modeling experts and vendors with expertise in this area
  • To lead initiatives that address regional issues, including issue resolution in a systematic and sustainable manner

You will ensure communication of local value evidence scientific insights to early asset teams:

  • To develop a deep understanding of payer needs in the region, including HTA requirements, to enable successful access for GSK's medicines.
  • To closely partner with LOCs to communicate local needs to Value Evidence Teams with support on local proposals, and provide context for evidence generation requests arising from LOCs.
  • To ensure that VEO strategies are continuously informed by global changes in payer environment.

Finally, you will lead VEO strategic initiatives to improve how the need of the LOCs are incorporated into our value evidence planning, execution and delivery
