Respiratory Biologics Educator

Basic qualifications:

  • 4 year BA/BS degree from an accredited institution
  • RN, NP, PA, RPh, MD, CRT, DO or Respiratory Therapist (Actively licensed or certified)
  • History of patient care
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in pharmaceutical and/or health care related industry

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years clinical experience preferred
  • Respiratory experience preferred
  • Sales experience
  • NAECB Certified, or the ability to become certified
  • Educator Experience (Branded or Unbranded)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/planning/organization
  • Organizational awareness-demonstrated ability to work across matrix

Job Description:

The location for this position will be the state of Ohio minus Cincinnati and Dayton.

The purpose of the Respiratory Biologics Educator role is to support the introduction, uptake, and customer experience of the GSK asthma product portfolio through branded disease, product and patient education.

The Respiratory Biologics Educators primary focus is on providing disease, product, and patient experience expertise to specialist customers whom are establishing and/or expanding their use of a new; HCP administered GSK Respiratory Biologic, to a new customer base, in a new marketplace; and where appropriate and directed, other GSK respiratory products for asthma and/or COPD.

Ability to travel extensively in multi-state territory. Overnight travel will be required for role.

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of GSKs asthma and COPD portfolio - with priority focus on GSK's biologic for severe asthma, competitive products, and respiratory therapeutic areas, products, and markets.

Maintain knowledge and data with respect to severe asthma therapeutic expertise as well as the specialty pharmacy / buy and bill reimbursement marketplace in territory covered and the impact on accounts

Diagnose, design, and deliver GSK respiratory product related educational programs to support HCPs understanding and uptake of GSK respiratory products, inclusive of disease education, product information, appropriate patient selection, administration, branded patient education, and branded adherence programs. In addition, where appropriate, and only authorized/approved by GSK headquarters, other resources relevant to patient education and self-care.

Provide education and support to Allergists, Pulmonologists, and other customers to identify the appropriate patients for treatment with GSK respiratory biologics.

Educate HCPs on the appropriate safety, dosing, and administration of GSK products (including reconstitution and injection, and device demonstration, where appropriate).

Coordinate activities with GSK Biologics Account Specialists, Payer Relations Managers, and Medical Science Liaisons to engage priority practices and accounts to deliver education to facilitate the best patient experience possible for those patients prescribed a GSK asthma medication or biologic and/or COPD medication by their health care provider.

Develop efficient and effective call and routing plan in consideration of geographic demands of territory, customer needs, coordination of activities with Respiratory Biologics Account Specialist and other matrix partners in the GSK commercial model.

Adhere to all GSK values and Commercial Practices Policies at all times.

The Respiratory Biologics Educator will participate in all aspects of the training program focused on scientific knowledge, customer discovery, customer engagement, and planning.
