Mechatronics Technician Apprentice

Your Responsibilities:
GSK is currently seeking entry level candidates for our Program Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Program.

Our Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship is a paid, two-year program and an opportunity for you to develop new skills, knowledge and obtain a nationally recognised qualification in a trade.

You will attend classes part-time, studying theory elements of the apprenticeship and gaining some practical workshop experience. In addition, you will spend time in the production facility learning new skills while rotating through various engineering roles across the site.

Your rotations may include time in manufacturing, packaging, or utilities.Your apprenticeship will combine on-the-job learning with a program of training and development.

Your role may involve:
• Maintain and repair plant equipment to maximise production efficiency and minimise disruption to production (KPI's: Mean time to Repair, Mean time between failure, OEE)
• Maintain site equipment and facility to a high standard meeting regulatory expectations such that the site is audit ready at all times (KPI's: Successful Audits)
• Support implementation and execution of the Product Contamination Cause Elimination (PCCE) program (KPI: PCCE related deviations)
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and good housekeeping is maintained (KPI: ZAPs due to Engineering activities)
• Take personal responsibility for quality in all aspects of maintenance work that will have impact on product quality (KPI's: Number of findings in quality audits, GMP deviations due to equipment issues)
• Initiate, encourage and implement JDI/CI projects that lead to reduce overall costs and improve cost effectiveness (KPI's: Ideas generated, Cost Savings)
• Ensure cost effectiveness of all maintenance jobs (KPI: Actual vs Forecast R&M budget)
• Ensure full usage of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for all engineering jobs (KPI: Work orders raised/closed)
• Provides timely technical advice to other departments for troubleshooting/continuous improvement to processes/systems (KPI: Customer Feedback)
• Familiar with GSK safety procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Good Engineering Practise, GMP to carry out maintenance to high quality standards (KPI's: Number of findings during audits, Number of ZAPs raised for maintenance activities)
• Support implementation of GSK Production System (GPS) for engineering (KPI's: Safety, Defect and Waste Performance)
• Assist Maintenance Executives and Maintenance Manager to perform routine work planning with operations to enable seamless work handover and minimise disruption to production schedule (KPI's: Customer Feedback, Maintenance Manager/Exec feedback)

To be eligible for our Manufacturing & Process Industry Electrical Apprenticeship program, you will need:
• Eligible to work in Malaysia
• SKM Level 3 in an engineering related subject
• If successful in the position you must be willing to enrol and meet entry requirements with one of GSK's partner SHRDC in the preferred related instruction course;
• To be able to commute daily to GSK worksite and/ or related instruction facility;
• To be able to provide a copy of your Academic transcript on request.
