Mechanical Technician (Apprentice)

Your Responsibilities:
This program offers you an opportunity for you to develop new skills, knowledge and obtain a nationally recognized qualification in a trade.You will attend classes part-time, studying theory elements of the apprenticeship and gaining some practical workshop experience. In addition, you will spend time in the production facility learning new skills while rotating through various engineering roles across the site. Your apprenticeship will combine on-the-job learning with a program of training and development.

Your role may involve:
• Maintain and repair the defined plant equipment to maximize plant availability and minimize disruption to the production process.
• Operate, maintain and repair the defined utility system to ensure constant and reliable utility supply to the plant at all times so as to minimize disruption to the production process.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and good housekeeping is maintained.
• Carry out implementation activities for minor plant modifications and capital projects, in line with defined specifications and budget.
• Takes personal responsibility for quality in all aspects of maintenance work that will have impact on product quality.
• Initiate, encourage and implement Lean Sigma activities and implement JDI projects that lead to reduce overall cost and improve cost effectiveness e.g. improve equipment reliability, standardization, etc.
• Ensure cost effectiveness of all maintenance jobs.
• Maintain and repair the defined plant equipment to maximize plant availability and minimize disruption to the production process.
• Provides timely technical advice to other departments for trouble shooting / continuous improvements to processes / systems
• Familiar with GSK Safety Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Good Engineering Practice, GMP to carry out maintenance activities to high quality standards.

We are looking for holders of NITEC or Higher NITEC certificates. You are welcomed to apply without any prior experience.

You should:
- Be Singaporean and Singapore PR (Program requirements)
- Have no Color Blindness
- Have completed National Service for Males
- No allergy to Penicillin (job requirement)

Preferred qualifications:
NITEC or Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering
NITEC or Higher NITEC in Mechatronics Engineering
