IT Trainee, Global Print Services

Global Print Services (GPS)

Vision Statement : Utilise industry leading best practice in Document Management to reduce spend by 25% and make a significant contribution to GSK's sustainability targets

GPS is strategically responsible for office based printing in GSK with the exception of Vaccines business unit.

This role will assume the responsibility for the central coordination of work related to printing and print service enhancements. The major components of the service are IT based and rely on the print applications and the servers that they reside on.

The Role


Supporting end users by solving incidents and requests related to pull printing according to GSK standards

Involved in all infrastructure actions regarding technical aspects of implementation and support

Prepare infrastructure environment (Servers, Access)

Provide day to day technical support for printing service based on UniFLOW/STREAMLINE solution

Maintain up to date information in meter read access database for all MFPs (Multi Function Printers)

Work with IT when requesting new IP addresses and print queues

Manage special projects such as IP scheme changes which affect the MFP configurations

Coordinating or participating in the service improvements or service transfer projects

Knowledge Mgt, authoring and maintaining key service documentation (End user help and help desk support documents etc.).

There will be a need to deal with intricate service issues across multiple service providers, e.g. Service desk, Networks, Access management, User Computing and Facilities Management.

The role will also be dealing with a complex user environment, understanding the business requirements of diverse users, obtaining and representing a full understanding of their particular needs and working practices.
