Being a member of the Procurement team, you not only liaise with the Australian and NZ businesses, but you will also support the Sourcing Group Managers in Asia Pacific projects. You will be sourcing products and services which will make an impact on how efficient and effective GSK delivers it's pharmaceutical and consumer products to the world. Each day is different. You can be involved in Marketing and Media projects to Corporate Services & IT to Logistics. By working in Procurement, you will leave having a greater understanding of how a global organisation operates which will benefit you in your career aspirations.

The successful candidate will have a mentor appointed within the Procurement Team to guide them through their daily business life as well as project based work they will be working on. From Day One you will be working on projects that deliver benefit for the GSK Business and support the team in delivering an operational savings target.

In this role, you will:

  • Work within the Australia and New Zealand Procurement Team. This team supports the Pharmaceutical, Consumer Healthcare and Manufacturing business units in Australia and New Zealand, as well as providing input into regional and global procurement strategies.
  • Support the Sourcing Managers in the team, as well as having responsibility for executing their own sourcing activities.
  • Play a role in strategic sourcing and category management, identifying savings opportunities and providing solutions to add value to the business. This work may involve Sourcing Projects to identifying the best suppliers able to meet GSK's Business Requirements.
  • Develop the implementation plan and define the Purchase to Pay processes and identifying KPI's to track success.

What we're looking for in a candidate

  • You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelors Degree in Business/Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field
  • An interest in pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry is favourable
  • Strong passion and interest in the placement field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
