Director of Perimeter & Access Services

Your Responsibilities:

In this role, you will ensure that Technical Infrastructure Operations (TIO) delivers effective and efficient Wide Area Network (WAN) transport services, and secure Perimeter, Directory and Federation services within GSK. This requires direct oversight and management of teams responsible for operation, delivery, product currency and software administration of complex globally deployed technology solutions.

Your role will be integral in directing and leading operational Incident/Problem Management for the WAN, Perimeter, and Directory/Federation infrastructure systems and services. This includes implementation and support services for any capability or component that links the GSK network to an external entity. This includes the Internet, 3rd-Party connections and Remote Access services.

You'll have a broad range of responsibilities that include defining and delivering WAN, Perimeter and an Access Services operating model to optimize efficiency and operational excellence in the delivery of service to GSK, including effective incident responsiveness. You'll develop strategies to ensure perimeter, access and WAN services continue to provide a secure and efficient workplace for GSK employees.

You will also ensure all relevant internal and external standards for regulatory compliance and enterprise security are maintained and adhered to. This role will require you to coordinate delivery and operations with the LAN & WiFi services director to ensure a seamless GSK network and secure environment, providing lifecycle/capacity management.

You will operate as part of a team accountable for the day to day global delivery of hardware and changes for perimeter devices, VPN termination devices and networks routers/switches.

You will have the opportunity to liaise with Managed Service Providers for WAN, secure Perimeter and related issues/services. You'll manage and fulfill user requests in a timely manner and in accordance with established metrics and have the ability to meet request fulfillment task and operate within SLA timeframes.

You will direct teams with responsibility for core and local site IT repairs/replacements, urgent high priory service impacting issues (SWAT calls), and service failure communications for duration of incidents [RTPA's, Service Alerts, IT help Alerts]

Preferred qualifications:
• Masters Degree in IT or Business Management
• Proven experience at managing a global service
• Experience of managing 3rd Party vendors
• Experience in leading geographically dispersed teams
• Demonstrated experience with IT management and improvement methodologies such as ITIL, and 6S
• Experience with AGILE methodologies
