Data Scientist : Supply Chain

Your Responsibilities:
Manufacturing and Supply Chains are experiencing transformational change through the application of Digital, Data, Analytics & Automation across many industries including Pharmaceuticals. Digital is widely acknowledged as the 4th Industrial Revolution and we're right at the heart of this in the Pharma Supply Chain. These new digital technologies require new skills, higher levels of collaboration and greater agility for us to be successful.

Job Purpose;

The Data Scientist is accountable for driving projects and improvement activities through technical consulting and value delivery leadership, for a range of Pharma supply chain activities within GSK.

The Data Scientist will execute advanced computational approaches to accelerate and optimize the pharmaceutical product supply chain, generating insights by merging diverse data streams, internal and external big data sources, structured and unstructured data and using modelling, statistical, data visualisation and decision analytics techniques.

Key Responsibilities;

Apply a broad array of analytics skills including machine learning, statistics, text-mining/NLP, and modelling to extract insights to structured and unstructured data sources and complementary real-world & digital information streams.

Work with the latest tools and technologies to impact manufacturing and supply chain process

Contribute to the Advanced Analytics plans for projects across all part of GSK. Build and construct prototypes of Advanced Analytic work-flows

Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions

Mine and analyse data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, end to end supply chain, quality and manufacturing business strategies

Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques

Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyse model performance and data accuracy

Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.

Use predictive modelling to increase and optimize end to end performance in the supply chain.

Why You?

Basic qualifications:
A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

Master Data management tools used with ERP in corporate environment
Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development

Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Periscope, Business Objects, D3, ggplot,

Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets

Knowledge and experience creating and using a variety of advanced machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.)

Knowledge and experience of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.

Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.

Coding knowledge and experience with several languages: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, etc.

Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL, etc.
