Basic qualifications:

B.Sc., B.A. or equivalent degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Biological Sciences is required.

>2 years industry experience required

Basic knowledge of biochemical purification techniques and of routine development laboratory procedures and/or plant equipment/operations is required.

Preferred qualifications:

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of protein purification, chromatography, scale down qualification, scale up, filtration and viral clearance.

Candidates with directly relevant employment, co-op or intern experience are preferred.

Familiarity with Akta Explorer/Pure and bioprocess skids is a big plus.

In addition, the successful candidate should possess:

A sound background in biochemistry, an enthusiastic attitude, the ability to plan, execute and analyze experiments; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and a desire to work in a team environment.

Job Description-

The candidate will be involved in all aspects of purification process development for monoclonal antibodies (or other therapeutic proteins) including: initial process screening, optimization and characterization, viral clearance, validation, scale-up and tech transfer to clinical manufacturing and/or commercial manufacturing partners. Primary focus will be on purification unit operations such as column chromatography (affinity, ion exchange, HIC, etc.), filtration, ultrafiltration/diafiltration. Basic knowledge of GxP; basic knowledge of regulatory requirements of the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry is beneficial.
