oDegree or equivalent.
oSignificant consumer marketing experience within FMCG or Consumer Healthcare and matrix environments.
oThe role requires fluency in English and an appreciation of the cultural diversity across Northern Europe (10 countries, multiple languages.)
oBrand building – experience in building brand equity and delivering brand share growth in competitive categories in developed markets. Technical skills include: Agency management, digital marketing, consumer insights development, integrated connections and media planning, the ability to assess creative work.
oStrategic thinking – proven ability to set out a long term strategy for brands and, develop plans to execute them, delivering brand sales, share and profit growth and overall retailer category growth.
oInnovation – experience in developing and launching new products end to end to drive brand differentiation in the market. Personal drive to move fast through the innovation process and be first to market.
oCommercial knowledge – Strong demonstration of performance delivery, evaluation and management, working the P&L and Advertising & Promotions planning and deployment.
oTeam leadership –experience managing direct reports, delivering results through others as well as experience providing direction across a matrix.
o Collaborative working – Proven ability to influence across the matrix at both peer and senior levels, including strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships of trust.
oAbility to prioritise and manage a large, complex and varied workload.
oDemonstration and delivery of High Performance Team behaviours, including high personal and team accountability, ambition, openness and honesty and the energy and drive to move fast.

We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our Consumer Healthcare business, in the role of the Northern Europe Area Marketing Manager, Gum Health, Family Oral health & Denture Care.

The successful candidate will lead this complex and varied portfolio across GSK Consumer Healthcare Northern Europe. The total portfolio of brands includes Parodontax, Corsodyl, Aquafresh, Corega and Poligrip and Northern Europe is comprised of 10 markets, (GB, Ireland, the Benelux and Nordic Markets.)
This role is accountable and responsible for the brand strategy, brand building and commercial delivery in GB as well as across Northern Europe. This role leads a team based in GB and also provides clear direction across the matrix for the team's leading the local activation and delivery on the portfolio in Ireland, Benelux and Nordics.
This role alongside the Area Marketing Director, Oral Health must secure a strong innovation pipeline and first class consumer, shopper and expert toolkits from the Global Oral Health Category teams, which are fully fit for purpose across the 10 NE markets, enabling us to build Parodontax, Corsodyl, Aquafresh, Corega and Poligrip into category defining brands that our consumers love and to win in the market and beat the competition.
- To develop the Northern Europe growth strategy for the portfolio, engaging & influencing key stakeholders.
- To deliver planned sales, share, profit and GM% growth for the portfolio with a particular focus on winning share.
- To deliver the full P&L for GB through strong engagement in the Core Commercial Cycle and close collaboration with Finance, Supply, Sales and Local Category teams.
- Alongside the Area Marketing Director, to influence the global Oral Health category team to ensure global strategy, pipeline and toolkits (consumer, shopper, expert – Dentist) are fit for purpose for fast and seamless deployment across the 10 markets of Northern Europe.
- To lead and develop a portfolio marketing team of 7 where individuals and team perform at the highest level, each supported by a differentiated development plan. To help make the NE Oral Health team a career destination.
- To guide and coach the GB team and influence teams across the Area to develop best in class integrated brand, activation and executional plans for brand and category growth (in grocery and pharmacy) and to build strong brand equities and win share profitably across channels.
- To analyze business performance of the portfolio in GB and Ireland, proactively managing any course correction required. To have a close grip of performance across Northern Europe and to act as a source of guidance to other markets.
- To be the portfolio expert for the area, handling questions/requests from other local markets and the global category teams on behalf of the area
- Lead best practice sharing of plans and initiatives with relevant brand teams across the area.
