Senior Regional Business Manager, New South Wales

Glaukos is an ophthalmic medical technology company focusedon the development and commercialization of breakthrough products andprocedures designed to transform the treatment of glaucoma, one of the world'sleading causes of blindness. We have pioneered Micro-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery,or MIGS, to revolutionize the traditional glaucoma treatment and managementparadigm. We launched the iStent, our first MIGS device, in the United Statesin July 2012 and we are leveraging our platform technology to build acomprehensive and proprietary portfolio of micro-scale injectable therapiesdesigned to address the complete range of glaucoma disease states andprogression. We believe the iStent is the smallest medical device ever approvedby the Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, measuring 1.0 mm long and 0.33 mmwide.

The Senior Regional Business Manager, New South Wales will work to achieve quarterly sales objectives by selling to targeted ophthalmic surgeons within their territory. The Senior Regional Business Manager, New South Wales is responsible for training and helping to integrate the iStent technology into their assigned practice. The Sr. RBM, New South Wales will attend surgeries and help the surgeon to achieve the desired surgical outcomes for the patient. The SrRBM will achieve these standards by focusing on the customer while managing the territory for the best return on investment.


Initiate sales calls to sell the surgeon on the Glaukos iStent.

Initiate surgical wet-labs to train the surgeon.

  1. TRAINING 35%

Attend the initial iStent surgeries until the surgeon is confident and skilled to perform the cases.

Attend surgeries as needed to update on new techniques to improve surgical outcomes.

Train the office staff and the doctor to recognize and convert patients to the iStent technology using Glaukos Practice System (GPS).

  1. Development of KOLs and iStent Market 20%

Identify Key Opinion leaders and work with them to establish Glaukos iStent as treatment of choice

Conduct targeted Surgeon education events within assigned territory to build awareness and future sales opportunities

  1. MEETINGS 15%

Attend targeted meetings as directed to increase sales lead opportunities and protect existing business.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Concentration in Business or Marketing preferred.

Work Experience: 8 Years of medical sales experience (minimum 3 years surgical Ophthalmic experience required). Two years of ophthalmic pharmaceutical experience highly desired. The preferred candidate would have both ophthalmic surgical and pharmaceutical experience

  • Experience developing and expanding new territories
  • Proven experience meeting and exceeding targeted goals.
  • Ability to build relationships and interact within all levels of a hospital/ day surgery
  • Proven ability to build and retain customer base
  • Experience with tracking software – SalesLogix a plus.
  • Ability to work within a budget.
  • Ability to comply with procedures and processes
