Sr. Accountant, Corporate Finance

Job Summary

As a Senior Accountant, Corporate you will be responsible for internal and external financial reporting, analyzing financial reports, performing general ledger journal entries and conducting asset/liability reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP guidance and Giant Eagle policy. You will also assist management in the review and resolution of issues arising within the department.

Job Description

  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years
  • Experience Required: Advanced Excel skills, financial statement preparation and strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience Desired: Experience in public accounting; Supervisory Experience
  • Education Desired: Bachelors Degree
  • Certification or Licensing Required: Certified Public Accountant
  • Remote Position

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate and oversee the development and performance of a team of accounting clerks and/or staff accountants. Manage direct reports by reviewing completed work as necessary, assisting in the resolution of problems that arise and performing annual reviews.
  • Gather information, analyze and prepare weekly profit and loss statements to provide management with a decision-making tool.
  • Compile and tie-out quarterly and annual external financial statements, footnotes, debt covenant support and executive summaries.
  • Review, interpret and prepare financial information on a monthly basis to ensure accurate reporting of financial statements.
  • Compile/submit/track financial reports that Giant Eagle, Inc., is legally required to complete.
  • Work closely with treasury, retail banking, payroll and tax, keeping the lines of communication open to resolve any issues.
  • Assist other Team Members in the department, as needed, to ensure efficient operation of the department.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are accurate and up to date.
  • Compile ad-hoc analyses from management as requested.
