You will develop comprehensive test automation frameworks using Cucumber, REST Assured, and JMeter, working closely with developers and product owners to ensure our solutions meet the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will implement behavior-driven development practices, create automated test suites, and perform performance testing on systems that handle real-time energy data from thousands of connected devices.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Test Automation & Framework Development

  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Cucumber for BDD (Behavior Driven Development)
  • Write test scenarios in Gherkin syntax collaborating with Product Owners and developers
  • Implement API test automation using REST Assured for microservices testing
  • Develop performance and load testing scripts using JMeter for energy data processing systems
  • Contribute to test automation best practices and framework improvements

Test Execution & Quality Assurance

  • Execute regression, integration, and end-to-end tests across multiple environments
  • Manage test cases and test execution in Xray integrated with Jira
  • Test MQTT-based real-time data flows and event-driven processing systems
  • Perform database testing and validate data integrity for SQL databases
  • Develop automated tests for SFTP file transfers and batch processing
  • Perform exploratory testing to identify edge cases and usability issues

CI/CD Integration & Performance Testing

  • Collaborate with developers to implement test automation as part of CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins)
  • Validate performance under load and identify bottlenecks in the system
  • Test integration with AWS services and cloud-based deployments
  • Support production releases with smoke testing and deployment validation

Defect Management & Collaboration

  • Monitor test results and report defects with detailed reproduction steps
  • Participate in sprint planning to provide test estimates and define test strategies
  • Work within SAFe Agile methodology participating in daily standups and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with development team to ensure testability of features

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in QA automation and software testing
  • Strong experience with Cucumber and Gherkin syntax for BDD
  • Solid experience with REST API testing using REST Assured or similar tools
  • Experience with performance testing using JMeter or similar tools (Gatling, LoadRunner)
  • Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments
  • Experience testing IoT platforms or real-time data processing systems (desirable)
  • Experience with testing MQTT protocols and message-oriented systems (desirable)
  • ISTQB certification or similar QA certifications (desirable)
  • Experience with security testing and vulnerability assessment (desirable)

Technical Skills

  • Testing Tools: Cucumber, REST Assured, JMeter (required)
  • Test Management: Xray, Jira (required)
  • Protocols: REST API, MQTT, SFTP, SQL (required)
  • Programming: Java or similar language for test automation (required)
  • CI/CD: Jenkins, Git/GitHub
  • Cloud: Understanding of AWS, Docker environments
  • Experience with Selenium for UI testing (desirable)
  • Experience with Postman, SoapUI (desirable)
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (Grafana, CloudWatch) (desirable)
  • Understanding of microservices testing strategies (desirable)

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical skills to understand complex system behavior and identify test scenarios
  • Ability to write clear, maintainable test automation code
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and shift-left testing principles
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and work with developers to resolve issues
  • Understanding of API contracts, REST principles, and HTTP protocols
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Team player who can collaborate effectively across functions
  • Proactive in identifying quality risks and proposing solutions

Languages

  • Fully proficient in English both written and spoken (required)
  • Knowledge of French or German (desirable)

Certifications

  • International Software Testing Qualifications Board Foundation Level or Advanced Level (desirable)
  • Certified Agile Tester (CAT) (desirable)
  • Performance Testing certifications (desirable)
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (desirable)
