Job Description Summary
The PROJECT MANAGER is overall responsible for the project and responsible in detail for planning, coordinating, and delivering control and protection projects for high-voltage electrical substations. This role ensures that projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical specifications, applicable industrial standards and client requirements. The Project Manager acts as the main point of contact between engineering teams, clients, contractors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of control and protection projects for high-voltage substations, from initiation to commissioning and project close-out.
- Define project scope, objectives, schedule, and budget in collaboration with internal teams and client.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including protection engineers, control engineers, commissioning engineers and external suppliers and/or contractors.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, safety regulations and quality requirements.
- Review and validate, with support of the Technical Lead Engineer the technical documentation such as protection schemes, relay settings, control diagrams, testing and FAT / SAT procedures.
- Manage procurement and subcontractor activities related to control and protection equipment (IED's, relays, RTU's, SCADA interfaces, panels, etc.).
- Schedule and coordinate / lead project meetings, prepare progress reports, and communicate project status to stakeholders and GE Vernova management.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT) and commissioning activities.
- Ensure proper documentation, Lessons Learned, Return of Experiences and project close-out activities are completed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field
- Experience in high-voltage substation projects, particularly in protection and control systems (e.g., SCADA and IEC 61850)
- Solid project management skills, with proven experience in engineering or energy infrastructure projects
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate international and/or multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio)
- • Willingness to travel up to 50% within the Netherlands and occasionally internationally
- Fluency in Dutch and English; additional languages are an asset
