Job Description Summary
The Lean Manufacturing Leader will define and execute the strategic plan for Lean initiatives across the site. This role focuses on driving process improvements in collaboration with key functional leaders, including Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, and Suppliers. The goal is to enhance customer responsiveness, reduce lead times, and improve quality while aligning with business objectives.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Drive process improvements by partnering with functional leaders in Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, Commercial, Services, Installation, and Suppliers to establish a customer-focused process improvement strategy.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to assess current baselines and identify framework processes for improvement using Lean methodologies.
- Shape the vision for Lean initiatives and translate it into actionable goals, objectives, and strategies to foster cross-functional cultural change and deliver consistent, year-over-year results.
- Provide leadership and direction as a strategic business partner to Manufacturing and Wall-to-Wall (W2W) business processes, identifying and analyzing Lean opportunities across the organization.
- Reduce waste and improve processes in transactional areas within the Manufacturing function, including Planning, Manufacturing Engineering (ME), and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
- Develop Lean Manufacturing expertise and infrastructure for Hydro Power in Canada.
- Simplify complex processes and manage cross-functional relationships to achieve measurable business impact.
- Deliver key data, metrics, and presentations for reporting, operational reviews, and business communications.
- Support the establishment of Masterplans and implement Strategy Deployment using the "Hoshin Kanri" approach, when applicable.
- Manage and deploy external consulting resources to support the execution of business roadmaps.
- Share best practices across respective regions and act as a conduit to accelerate cross-business progress.

Required Skills
- Experience working in both international organizations and smaller structures.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse teams and cultures, and influence decision-makers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and adapt to various operational and geographical constraints.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 10 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing.
- Fluency in English and French.
Preferred Skills
- Proven ability to motivate teams and achieve results.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools.
- Experience in industries with mature Lean practices, such as automotive or industrial manufacturing.
- Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and leadership abilities.
You must have legal authorization to work in Canada and any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation: the drug screen requirement in the background check process is not required if the role is based in Canada
