BESS Augmentation and Sustaining Product Manager
Job Description Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with an engineering background and an interest in commercial product development to start move into a product management pathway. The BESS Augmentation & Sustaining product manager will develop new BESS Augmentation products and also will manage existing products and fleets from a product management perspective, working with engineering, sales, service, quality, and manufacturing to identify cost reduction activities, fix and implement field issues, and digest feedback from product operations into lessons learned for new product development within the GE Vernova energy storage systems division.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead BESS augmentation product development from product ideation, stage gate process, and through to implementation and management.
- Support product management of existing BESS fleet, gather lessons learned, report field issues, and flow lessons learned back into NPI processes.
- Cost reduction activities for established product lines past the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase.
- Accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, be involved in long-term planning, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
- Broadening knowledge of own sales territory, product lines, markets, sales processes or customer groups to execute policy/strategy. Still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require commercial knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- Travel up to 25% as needed, including to customer sites, project sites, and manufacturing facilities. Most travel will be domestic but on occasion, international travel will be required.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in science or engineering from an accredited university and 2+ years of work experience.
- Associates degree in science or engineering and a minimum of 6 years of experience
Desired Characteristics
- Interest in both engineering and business development.
- MBA or business education a plus but not required.
- Experience in BESS, services, cost reduction, LEAN.
- Exposure to sales or willingness to learn and gain experience working with sales people.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
The base pay range for this position is 83,200.00 - 124,800.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
