Job Description Summary

In this role you will be responsible for providing Financial Accounting leadership and guidance to the finance and non-finance teams for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Audit requirements:
    • Manage internal and external audit works for the DACH region to ensure on-time delivery of the statutory requirements, execution of the audit plan against the regulatory deadlines
    • Coordinate all deliverables with the relevant owners & responsible parties to ensure documentation is provided to high quality and on time
    • Ensure that any findings are resolved with appropriate owners (Stat, OTR Finance, FP&A, HR, Tax, Legal, other functions) for both US GAAP and local statutory purposes
    • Ensure proper documentation of S2G (STAT to GAAP) adjustments
    • Support the compilation of local supplementary statistical filings.
  • Transactional tax:
    • Oversee the compliance of the transactional tax filings required for your region e.g. VAT and WHT
  • Team leadership:
    • You will lead a team of 6 people
    • Drive and encourage processes improvements and legal entities simplification
    • Collaborate with in-country service providers to identify opportunities to reduce statutory costs and manage risks.

Key Qualifications:

  • A degree in accounting or finance and/or a recognised accounting qualification or equivalent experience
  • A consistent career within auditing, accounting, or financial reporting with relevant hands-on expeirence
  • Proven experince in leading teams under these domains
  • Managing statutory audits/project management experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency of local German and US accounting requirements (most importantly German HGB/Austria & Swiss, and US GAAP principles)
  • Previous experience with tax aspects (direct and indirect)
  • You must be fluent in English and German
  • Highly proficient use of MS Office, SAP experience preferable

  • Integrity - accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others
