The Senior Director, US Market Training & Excellence will lead the development and execution of an integrated, enterprise-level learning strategy that enhances the performance, capabilities, and readiness of the entire U.S. Market organization at Genmab. This includes but is not limited to Field Sales, Market Access and key home office functions that contribute to Genmab's commercial success in the U.S.

This individual will play a critical role in shaping the learning culture of the organization, ensuring that employees across the U.S. Market are equipped with the strategic, scientific, and operational knowledge to drive sustained impact in oncology. The Senior Director will lead a high-performing team, work cross-functionally with key stakeholders, and ensure training programs are innovative, compliant, scalable, and directly aligned to business priorities.

This is a highly visible, strategically critical leadership position with the opportunity to build and evolve a world-class training organization that fuels Genmab's mission and commercial growth through close collaboration with Brand, Medical Affairs, and Customer Experience & Insights-ensuring training is insight-driven, scientifically sound, aligned and measured with both strategic imperatives and customer expectations. This individual will lead a team of three direct reports and will be responsible for scoping and expanding the team to meet the growing needs of the U.S. Market organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead a comprehensive training strategy for the U.S. Market that spans all customer-facing and strategic home office roles, driving enterprise readiness and business impact.
  • Develop and implement role-specific learning programs for Field Sales, Market Access, and other key U.S. Market functions.
  • Partner closely with Marketing to ensure brand strategy, positioning, and messaging are embedded throughout training curricula and execution.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs to align on scientific education, clinical data comprehension, and compliant communication across commercial functions.
  • Engage with Market Access leadership to ensure training reflects the evolving payer landscape, HEOR concepts, reimbursement models, and stakeholder needs.
  • Lead U.S. Market launch readiness efforts, creating end-to-end learning journeys that support pre-launch preparation, certification, and post-launch optimization.
  • Leverage insights from Customer Experience, Analytics, and Sales Operations to ground training in market realities, customer behavior, and performance trends.
  • Drive innovation in training delivery and design, including blended learning models, digital tools, role-based curricula, simulation-based learning, and field coaching platforms.
  • Create and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate training effectiveness, learning retention, behavioral change, field/team readiness, and overall impact on business performance.
  • Identify and implement operational efficiencies across the training ecosystem to streamline delivery, optimize resources, and ensure scalability as the organization grows.
  • Establish training infrastructure and content governance, ensuring compliance, consistency, and excellence in training delivery and operations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement while expanding team capabilities in alignment with business growth.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to U.S. Market leadership, proactively identifying future capability needs and advising on learning solutions that enable growth and differentiation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, M.Ed., PharmD, or related) preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Training, Commercial Excellence, or Learning & Development within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Deep understanding of both field and headquarters-based commercial functions, including Sales, Market Access, Marketing, and Medical Affairs.
  • Proven experience building and leading an enterprise training organization that supports all levels and roles across a commercial organization.
  • Track record of success in training for launches, including curriculum design, onboarding, scientific training, and readiness certification.
  • Expertise in modern learning design, adult learning theory, instructional technology, and the application of analytics to drive impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders, including executive leadership across Commercial, Medical, and Compliance.
  • Experience managing a team of senior learning professionals, internal cross-functional partners, and external vendors.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements in training development and execution, especially in highly regulated therapeutic areas such as oncology.

Familiarity with market access training includes payer landscape, reimbursement, and HEOR (Health Economics & Outcomes Research).

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:

$227,040.00 - $340,560.00

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
