Staff Accountant, Revenue

Summary:

Genesys is seeking a Staff Accountant of Revenue Accounting to complement our accounting team. The Staff accountant will be responsible for the monthly and quarterly revenue reporting procedures over various revenue streams as well as the accounting associated with affiliates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate revenue related journal entries for the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
  • Prepare Fair Value (VSOE) analysis of historical sales activities for purposes of proper revenue allocation to multiple-element arrangements.
  • Maintains and updates revenue schedules for various revenue streams on monthly basis.
  • Performs reconciliations to properly recognize and defer revenue and maintain the sub-ledgers and schedules related to applicable revenue streams.
  • Performs Ad-hoc financial analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting or related emphasis with at least 1 to 2 years of corporate accounting experience or 2 years of Software company finance department experience.
  • Strong understanding of period-end processes and account reconciliations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills including advanced formulas, links, and pivot tables.

Knowledge of revenue related technical software revenue recognition rules a plus.

  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

  • Communicates regularly with colleagues and management.
  • Uses computer frequently.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
