EMEA Revenue Accounting Manager

An exciting role that provides the opportunity to manage all aspects of the revenue accounting and invoicing function across the EMEA region within this progressive software company. The Revenue Accounting Manager will work with multiple stakeholders to ensure that Genesys complies with all necessary policies and guidelines to effectively control and report all revenue related financials, whilst also maximizing revenue recognized, in any given accounting period.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, the primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring all revenue is accounted for in accordance with Genesys policies and accounting guidelines, namely SOP 97-2
  • Advising sales, field finance, services and legal on revenue recognition and booking policies in order to book and maximise revenue
  • Enforcing and developing controls to make sure processes remain efficient, effective and Sarbanes-Oxley compliant
  • Responsibility for the monthly revenue and related transactions close cycle, including monthly account reconciliations, analysis and adhering to deadlines
  • Overseeing the quarterly review of service transactions for VSOE compliance
  • Working closely with Order Management and Collections teams to ensure a seamless overall Order to Cash process flow
  • Ensuring that any revenue related entries (cost of sales, commissions etc.) are also accurate
  • Educating sales, service and operations personnel on revenue accounting principles

Minimum Requirements:

  • At a minimum part-qualified, but ideally qualified, accountant (ACA, CIMA etc.)
  • Experience of the specific revenue-related issues that apply within the software business sector
  • Ideally, a detailed knowledge of SOP 97-2 and related pronouncements
  • Experience in the technology sector gained either from a practice environment working with software clients, or having worked in a similar revenue role in a multinational software organisation
  • Experience in working in a cross-functional environment
  • 2-years supervisory experience
  • Experience in the use of CRM and ERP software (ideally Sales Force.com and Netsuite)
  • Experience in Sarbanes-Oxley controls and documentation
  • Any additional European language(s)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven record of meeting/exceeding established goals both as an individual and as part of a team
  • Organised, methodical, enthusiastic and flexible
  • Possess the confidence and assertiveness to influence others
  • Possess the ability to liaise with and advise non-finance managers and contracts teams
  • Strong time-management skills
