What are we looking for?  

We're looking for a local marketing producer to help support General Assembly's growing DC campus by helping to raise local brand awareness, execute ongoing events in our DC campus, and build the GA community. As the Marketing Producer, you will execute all grassroots marketing efforts. You will be responsible for acquiring a certain number of aligned emails per quarter through partnerships, event programming, community outreach, and other creative ideas you might have to engage new audiences.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify relevant new audiences and figure out the best way to bring them to GA
  • Grow GA DC's mailing list quickly using offline channels
  • Plan and execute in-person events that introduce GA to people unfamiliar with us on and off-site
  • Work closely with our frontlines team and event partners to ensure events run smoothly
  • Find and engage local experts in tech, design, and business to lead events with us
  • Work closely with our global business development team to leverage partners for local email acquisition
  • Meet quarterly acquisition targets
  • Keep track of and report on all metrics surrounding user acquisition strategies
  • Manage GA DC social media channels
 
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has 1-2 years in marketing or event planning
  • Can navigate an ever-changing, fast paced startup environment; demonstrable ability to come up with solutions
  • Is passionate about (and familiar with) the ​DC tech and startup community
  • Has experience planning and executing excellent events that people love
  • Is proficient in Google Docs and familiar with a CMS such as Wordpress
  • Is a master networker at heart
  • Is detail-oriented with strong organization skills (you can handle a lot of moving pieces)
  • Maintains a positive and solutions-focused attitude at all times, and remains calm and friendly under pressure
  • Has excellent communication and copywriting skills
  • Is always looking to iterate and get better based on feedback and learnings
