Operating Engineer I

GEICO's Fredericksburg office has a position available as an Operating Engineer.

Multiple positions open, multiple shifts open
The schedule will include split days off and will include a Saturday or Sunday. Schedule is subject to change.

Aptitude test will be administered in Electrical, Plumbing & Mechanical at time of application.

-Experience working in a facilities or similar environment
-Monitoring energy management system
-Understand & Operate Stand by generation power plant and Uninterrupted power supply (UPS) system
-Testing of Industrial Cooling Towers including chemical water testing
-Familiar with A/C mechanical, electrical equipment, system operations
-Above average PC skills
-Executing the preventative maintenance assignments for entire power plant
- Handling internal work orders, modular furniture re-configurations and meeting room set-ups
-Update maintenance logs on a daily basis
-Position involves the following: Lifting, Climbing ladders - Standing, and Operating lift equipment

Responsibilities include:

Must be able to successfully communicate and interact with associates at all levels including senior management and outside vendors. Must be able to work effectively as part of a team, adapt readily to change and work well under pressure. Must be detail oriented, demonstrate and maintain a high-level of leadership consistently.

Qualifications: Related on the job experience or certifications in 2 or more areas:
Safety (CPR Certified)
Electrical (Journeyman level Certification)
HVAC II energy management
Industrial Cooling Tower Water Treatment I
UPS/Standby Power Plant Generation
Construction (Journeyman)
