Legal Intern - Salt Lake City
Key Position Details
GEICO's fast paced, high volume Salt Lake Staff Counsel office (located in West Jordan), is looking to hire a Law Clerk. Candidate must have completed first year of law school. Candidate must meet eligibility requirements of Rule 14-807 of the Utah Supreme Court Rules of Professional Practice. (Law School Student and Law School Graduate Legal Assistance rule.) Job duties include, but are not limited to drafting answers, petitions, motions, document review, extensive discovery practice and preparing discovery summaries under the direction of an attorney and any other duties the manager may require. Court appearances may be permitted if all requirements of Rule 14-807(d)(3)(A) are met.
Candidate must be able to write clearly and persuasively.
Familiarity with Utah law a plus as is any experience in civil litigation and trial work. Writing sample required.
Qualifications: Filing - Lifting - PC Experience - Phone Experience - Public Contact - Standing - Word Processing.
Schedule: Part time 15 to 30 hours per week.
Salary: $22.35 / hour.
