Key Position Details

GEICO's fast paced, high volume Portland Staff Counsel office (located in Downtown Portland), is looking to hire 2 Law Clerks. Candidate must have completed first year of law school. Job duties include, but are not limited to drafting motions, document review, report writing, extensive discovery practice and preparing discovery summaries under the direction of an attorney and any other duties the manager may require. May be able to observe trials, arbitrations and depositions as well.

Candidate must be able to write clearly and persuasively.

Familiarity with Oregon law a plus as is any experience in civil litigation and trial work. Writing sample required.

Qualifications: Filing - Lifting - PC Experience - Phone Experience - Public Contact - Standing - Word Processing.

Schedule: Part time 15 to 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible depending on your course schedule. Looking for individuals interested in litigation practice after law school graduation. May work additional hours in summer.

Salary: $23.00 / hour.
