Job Duties & Responsibilities

As a Cisco Voice & Network Architect, you will be a part of our Telecommunication Division. This will include design, build and implementation level tasks. Implementation of proposed solutions as well as provide on-going support for Cisco and related systems. Provide Level 3 support, and any other duties as assigned. You will be supporting VoIP telephony systems for GEICO's contact centers and back office business units. Deploy, configure and support all aspects of the Cisco Unified Communications, Call Manager, Unity Connection, and Cisco Contact Center Infrastructure and other relevant Cisco Products for Call Centers and Collaboration. You will be responsible for triage issues and perform root cause analysis, make recommendations for resolution of VoIP system issues and communicate findings. Partner with outside service organizations in support of VoIP environment. Manage VoIP devices in accordance with best practices and GEICO approved methods and procedures. Develop performance analysis metrics and oversee the capacity planning for VoIP system expansion. Provide training and mentor technical staff for VoIP troubleshooting, configuration and overall system knowledge. Must have experience in formulating, implementing and adhering to Change Management Processes and Procedures. Positive, service oriented attitude, teamwork oriented mentality, and sharpened writing, oral and interpersonal skills. Ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures pertaining to Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI and other regulatory organizations regulations. Interface with business customer and peer IT teams to analyze requirements and solution/system delivery. Develop process and procedures for implementation and operational support of systems 24x7 production support & technical support to team and customers.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 4+ Years of experience in Cisco based VoIP solutions is required
  • Must be proficient in all aspects related to Cisco Voice VoIP Administration is a requirement
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco VoIP networking equipment and software
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco CUCM, Unity Voice Messaging Systems, and Cisco UCCE Contact Center solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Routers, Voice Gateways, Cisco Unified Border Element and Quality of Service configuration is required
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols a must
  • Experience with Cisco UCS, VMWare
  • Demonstrated ability to systematically troubleshoot problems in complex systems and network environments a must
  • Experience supporting IP-based voice and video systems, including QoS on both LAN and WAN infrastructure a must
  • Experience deploying and managing SNMP-based network monitoring tools
  • Strong Knowledge-level system administration of Unix and Windows servers is required
  • Working knowledge with Active Directory and LDAP authentication systems
  • The following certifications are required:

Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert - Collaboration (CCIE-Collaboration)

Cisco Certified Network Professional - Voice (CCNP-Voice)
