Business Leadership Summer Internship - San Diego, CA
Are you looking for an internship that provides real world business experience?
GEICO's 8-week paid summer internship will immerse you in our dynamic industry, managerial-style projects, and opportunities to network among leaders within the organization. A strong emphasis on leadership development is achieved through management mentors, coaching and feedback.
This full-time program is designed to educate, stimulate and develop future business leaders. It is well-suited for students interested in a career in leading others in a customer focused industry. Compatible majors include management, finance, economics, marketing, and general business. You will take part in several impactful business projects to help you understand and contribute to various areas of GEICO's day to day operations in departments like: Sales, Claims, Customer Service and Auto Damage. You will work as a team with other interns, solving real business challenges that our departments curr ently face. You will also be given a unique opportunity to be mentored on a regular basis by a member of GEICO's management team. This internship will i ncrease your experience in a corporate business environment and develop your leadership skills.
The goal of GEICO's internship is to find students who are a great fit for GEICO's Management Development Program or Emerging Leader Program after graduation. In fact, more than half of our interns accept full-time positions following completion of the program!
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university with a graduation date of December 2019 through June 2021.
- 3.0+ minimum cumulative GPA is required
- Strong customer service skills
- Have taken a variety of business courses
- Very good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- High level of dependability
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Strong understanding of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
