We are looking for a seasoned technologist with an agile mind, and outstanding client skills. You will join a multidisciplinary team of analysts involved in assessing the business opportunities for IoT, and related technologies, in a variety of applications. Starting from a base coverage of analytics, machine learning, and AI, and guided by client interest, you will lead our research agenda on topics such as process analytics across industries to drive favorable business outcomes. A successful candidate will have technical expertise and market knowledge in:
• IoT Analytics Platform as a Service (PaaS)
• Visual Analytics Business Intelligence (BI)
• Data Science
• Artificial Intelligence
• SaaS-based IoT Analytics Platform-as-a-Service
• Big Data technologies & IoT (Hadoop, Spark, etc)
These topics reflect a rapidly growing interest, amongst a broad swath of Gartner’s clients, in a variety of societal themes, including the Internet of Things..
This role is responsible for understanding the market, product planning, and execution of the business development lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with our clients to ensure the IoT platforms are aligned to create world class IoT product development efforts.
Demonstrating a firm grasp of commercial realities, you will assess the market opportunity for technologies and products, presenting powerful competitive analysis and customer opportunity assessments. In addition you will use your considerable first-hand experience to provide clients with the do’s, don’ts and best practices behind their go-to-market activities.
You will have daily contact with clients in a variety of roles; advising vendors and end users on how to go to market, and providing insight to financial firms to aid their investment decisions. Based on your client interactions and technical know-how you will contribute to forming Gartner’s IoT research agenda, and to generating new business opportunities for us.
Successful candidates will have 15 years or more relevant industry experience, education to degree level in electronics or a related science, and ideally an MBA.
