We seek a Principal, Research to support the discovery of actionable business ideas that will help Fortune 500 executives transform their organizations, people, and business outcomes.

How You Will Make an Impact at Gartner:
Learn and execute Gartner's proven methodology for conducting world-class research that helps identify best practice solutions to many of today's biggest business challenges.
Manage key research deliverables, including but not limited to: presentations and webinars, white papers, case studies, guidebooks, templates, round-table discussions, or custom, in-bound research requests.
Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership and help shape the strategy of the team by identifying and driving innovations in line with the goals of the Sales & Service and Gartner. Serve as a key contributor in team strategic planning sessions and own the outcomes of assigned strategic initiatives.
Partner with internal stakeholders to set compelling agendas for in-person and virtual client meetings that will drive valuable feedback to shape Gartner’s research output, while providing exciting and engaging interactions for clients.
Conduct research interviews and in-person meetings with C-level executives and use these interactions to drive research deliverables and inform research colleagues of key insights shaping the landscape.
Stay abreast of key trends affecting Sales and the companies/advisory board members that make up the HR Executive Networks; use this knowledge to drive timely and relevant product plans for the boards.
Ensure diversity of perspectives on the boards by targeting senior executives with the right role/scope, known brands, and thought leadership to participate; oversee recruitment efforts, including conducting introductory calls for potential new members and encouraging them to attend meetings and other key interactions.
Bachelor's degree; Social Science background preferred
5+ years of work experience in academic or applied research
Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Must be willing to work out of Arlington, VA
Master's degree; Social Science background preferred
Experience in a client-facing role
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience conducting primary and secondary research, including research interviews
