PR Manager Germany and Scandinavia


Reporting to the Director for Public Relations in EMEA we have an excellent and exciting opportunity to lead the PR efforts across Europe, focusing on Germany but also assisting with the Scandinavian market. Your duties will focus on but not be limited to the following;

  • Germany Events PR – Create yearly PR plans, manage PR/media relations activities as out lined in plan for all Germany Summits, including producing releases and articles. Meeting w/Events team for each Summit (attending weekly meetings, giving PR updates), working with PR Director on brand journalism articles tied to Events
  • Write for Smarter With Gartner (Gartner’s brand journalism site) – Be able to write report and produce articles from Gartner Events
  • Write press releases and articles for SWG in English (1,5 day a week). Write and edit bylines in German
  • Manage external events (e.g. IFA, MWC), pitches and outreach in Scandinavia
  • Keep the market databook on Google Drive up to date (monthly at very least)
  • Provide weekly press clips to quoted analysts & managers
  • Post press releases/alerts on Gartner Newsroom
  • Be proficient at and understand social media – Assist w/social media at Gartner Summits in Europe
  • Work closely with the extended PR team in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and the Gartner Germany PR agency
  • Willing to travel – maybe 1-3 trips per year (mainly to work onsite at Gartner Summits)
  • Needs to be ok with working remotely from manager (I’m based in Paris, position is in Munich), is a team player (our global team is very close and collaborates consistently), is a self-starter and takes initiative, has leadership skills and works well with others
  • Manage incoming media inquiries from Scandinavia (daily)
  • Manage proactive PR activities with media in Scandinavia – Pitch analyst visits; briefings. Distribute WW/EMEA press announcements and invitations to Gartner Summits and Symposium/ITxpo in Barcelona
  • Keep all trackers updated: Scandinavia VIP media tracker; Scandinavia press office tracker
  • Manage and cultivate VIP & top tier relationships in Scandinavia


Qualifications:

  • BA in either journalism, PR, communications or related field
  • Fluent (written and spoken) in German and English
  • 3-5 years experience in PR either in-house or PR Agency
  • Advanced writing and professional communication skills are also essential
  • Ability to work independently and to deadlines
