What we do
Technology Strategy Consulting. We help the C-suite make the right decisions based on how technology can transform their businesses. In today’s world, a consulting firm that is “born digital”, (with the ability to directly leverage the full power of Gartner’s research and insights) has relevance to the most important strategic decisions any business will make. We deliver value to clients in areas such as IT Strategy Consulting, Benchmarking, Analytics and Optimization. Typically, this helps Gartner’s clients to execute on their strategic priorities, across all sectors, including:

o    Big Data and Analytics

What you’ll do
The Consulting Strategy & Projects Director will partner with global leaders to drive key initiatives that will improve Gartner Consulting’s performance and operations. Some examples of work include:  

  • Define, roll-out, and evolve best practices and tools to our Managing Partners (Sales) that enables them to over achieve their targets, simplifies their processes, and have better coaching conversation with their managers
  • Design, pilot, and rollout out a “Deal Hub” that will drive better pricing, consistent execution, and reduced admin for our Managing Partners (Sales)
  • Drive increased visibility, discussion, and action into our Pipeline and Backlog metrics


Project leadership
Project manage key initiatives working closely with cross-functional teams and global leaders – design solutions, manage execution, key decisions, issues and implementation
Define project charter (business problem, definition of success, key deliverables, scope, etc)
Define workstreams and identify teams
Manage some workstreams, while holding others accountable for other workstreams
Actively lead problem solving and solution development by bringing together the right people
Clearly communicate within and outside the project team to bring the organization along on the journey

Global leadership ad hoc problem solving and support
Partner and support our leadership team on strategic questions, smaller projects, and other support
Support select leadership meetings and problem solvings

Develop capability and team
Actively develop team and provide coaching
Identify development opportunities for others

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, masters preferred 
Project Management Leader:
  • 7+ years of experience leading project-based initiatives that drive business transformation on company Mission Critical Priorities through impactful design, smarter processes and state of the art technology platforms
  • Management consulting experience strongly preferred
  • Successful track record of superior service delivery and change management in a global environment
  • Sales Strategy and Operations experience preferred


Strategic Problem Solver with Bias for Action: 
  • Ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans and make decisions with incomplete or imperfect information
  • Proven ability to use data, analytics, and business knowledge to solve complex business problems. 
  • Experienced getting to a v0.5 solution, getting real world feedback, and then iterating to v1.0+ with a continuous improvement mindset


 Innovator: 
  • Future forward visionary who can see where we need to be in 3 years, but who can develop a compelling, practical approach to how we get there starting tomorrow
  • Consistent demonstration of integrity, collaboration, no limits mindset, objectivity, and delivering results consistently using proven best practices and methodologies


Excellent communication and collaboration: 
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence wide range of leaders (from the Operating Committee to Sales Managers) in the development of solutions for Gartner’s most critical business initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation skills
