Purpose:

The job of the Conference Producer is to create and deliver compelling conference agendas tailored to each C-level executive community we serve. Key responsibilities include understanding the industry and audience, researching content, interviewing C-level executives, designing cutting-edge agendas, securing best in class speakers, building relationships with key industry figures, and becoming a subject matter expert in your business sector. You will also be expected to identify speaking opportunities for revenue-generating topics, introduce innovative features and formats to the conferences, and work with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies to ensure the commercial success of your events.



Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Produce agendas for 6-8 business conferences per year
  • Research and design conference agendas that reflect regional market trends and topics impacting Fortune 1000 organizations and C-level executives
  • Work with Content Director to help set the regional conference strategy for the year
  • Successfully partner with program management to help identify and secure sponsorship sales
  • Work with marketing and content liaison teams to maximize audience and sponsor thought leadership investment
  • Develop high-level conference agendas, securing senior industry speakers, and identifying new and compelling session formats
  • Research competitors’ events in order to add new content and speakers to our events and to produce the highest quality agendas possible
  • Build relationships with C-level executives, thought leaders and sponsor organizations
  • Creatively write speaker profiles, presentation abstracts, invitations, stage scripts and prepare a variety of digital and print marketing materials
  • Negotiate, draft and manage speaker agreements with authors, thought leaders and industry experts
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations and other business units to ensure alignment with event strategy and delivery
  • Evaluate content quality of events to achieve continual improvement
  • Approximately 10 – 15% travel to events is required


Job Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree is required
  • 2+ years conference production experience or related content research and development experience
  • Experience successfully creating and producing events within a fast-paced commercial setting
  • Working knowledge of content relevant to Fortune 1000 organizations and C-level executives
  • Ability to identify commercial opportunities and understand how different event formats and sessions can be monetized
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively to develop event agendas
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new subject matter quickly
  • Ability to travel occasionally, estimated to be 10 – 15%
  • Enthusiasm, confidence, a strong professional work ethic and strong business acumen
  • Superior organizational and project management skills, along with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and synthesize information quickly and effectively
  • Effective interviewing skills
