Associate Director, Public Sector Consulting - Program Oversight



POSITION SUMMARY

Gartner is enjoying double-digit growth across all sectors, and seeking an up-and-coming, ambitious and driven public sector consultant to take a key role in the development of our Consulting practice in Canada. The successful candidate will take on senior consulting delivery activities. Gartner’s strategy, which you will be helping to implement, is to focus on a small number of clients, with whom we will build, long-term strategic relationships, based on consulting capabilities in world-class areas of expertise such as:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Digital Enablement
  • Application Strategy and Business Modernization
  • Organizational Change Management
  • IT Cost Optimization
  • Project Oversight and Quality Assurance
  • Project Health Assessments
  • IT Governance and Investment Management
  • Infrastructure Modernization
  • Sourcing and Vendor Management
  • Cybersecurity and Privacy 


Led by our Managing Partners, we develop sustained relationships with select clients by selling and delivering large, high-impact engagements focused on our clients’ most important IT initiatives and mission-critical priorities, using replicable solutions based on distinctive capabilities that are tailored to the public sector. The Consulting Associate Director assists in managing medium to large-size projects and must have demonstrated success in leading people and projects.   

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT AND OVERSIGHT AREA OF INTEREST:

While we deliver engagements in the areas of expertise listed above, we are particularly interested in candidates who can bring the following experience, capabilities and skills to the firm in the public or private sectors:
  • Conducting large program management ($50M+) of enterprise wide, multi-year technology enabled business transformation programs
  • Establishing and/or maturing program management office functions, capabilities and skills
  • Leading program oversight, health checks and quality assurance for program sponsors, senior executives and / or Boards of Director
  • Conducting independent validation and verification of major technology enabled business transformations
  • Establishing and maturing effective IT governance and investment management


Job Requirements:

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years work experience

• Prior experience with a management consulting firm or system integrator

• MBA, MPP, MPA preferred

• Position can be located in Calgary or Vancouver with flexibility to work across Canada

• Bilingual and government security clearances an asset
